Join us! We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build out our Incubation and Network Effects team with Senior Backend Engineers. We are seeking engineers who are passionate about connecting people and their networks to GoFundMe’s and Classy’s causes, amplifying their impact on people's lives.

Candidates for this role will be based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The Role…

  • Collaborate with a team of engineers and product management to implement new features on the GoFundMe platform.
  • Be responsible for the development, testing, deployment, documentation, and maintenance of new and existing backend services and tools.
  • Participate in code reviews to uphold internal standards for style, maintainability, and excellence.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to help resolve urgent engineering issues.
  • Identify technical debt, propose, and implement solutions.
  • Advocate for improvements to the codebase and provide leadership to others on your team.

You…

  • Have 5+ years of professional experience working with backend programming languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Python, etc.) on customer-facing applications.
  • Have professional experience with relational database design.
  • Have professional experience developing REST APIs using any standard framework.
  • Are experienced with using Git in a workplace environment.
  • Have experience with CI/CD tooling in a development environment.
  • Have experience working in an agile, highly iterative software development process.
  • Have experience with performance and optimization issues and the ability to both diagnose and prevent these problems.
  • Are familiar with application performance monitoring and log analytics tools such as New Relic and Sumo Logic.

Preferred…

  • Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience with async processing, such as SQS/SNS, Kafka.
