What You’ll Work On

You will join as a mid-level Software Engineer working primarily on the frontend with the Availability Planning and Experiences team. Availability Planning is OpenTable's control panel, where restaurants manage schedules, shifts, and table placements, with various settings to optimize table usage. As we add more controls, we focus on ensuring these interact seamlessly while maintaining ease of use for restaurants.

The team also manages Experiences, which allows restaurants to create unique events for customers, like special menus for local restaurant events. These experiences may include prepayment options and can affect table availability (e.g., making certain tables exclusive to the event). This feature is increasingly integrated with Availability Planning.

Our tech stack includes JavaScript and TypeScript, using the React and Redux frameworks. We employ testing tools like React Testing Library, Jest, and Cypress.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of full-time professional experience working in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills, particularly in representing technical trade-offs for various solutions.
• Ability to collaborate with Project Leads to take projects from technical planning to production.
• Writing readable, maintainable code covered by automated tests.
• Proficiency in React.
• Experience working with design tools like Figma and collaborating with designers.
• Familiarity with maintaining and enhancing older codebases.
• Comfortable providing and receiving feedback through code review processes.
