We are seeking a Senior WordPress Developer to support our marketing team by developing and maintaining a high-performance, mobile-responsive website within the WordPress platform. You will be responsible for ensuring an exceptional user experience to boost customer engagement and user acquisition. This role requires an individual who can quickly adapt, has a range of solutions at their disposal, and is excited to drive our website to new heights.

We need someone with deep WordPress expertise and digital marketing experience. You should be skilled in creating custom themes and plugins, staying updated with industry trends, and coding custom modules to the highest standards. Beyond front-end expertise, you should also handle complex back-end tasks like dynamic content, SEO optimization, and web service programming.

This role is remote, based in Mexico.

Areas of Responsibility:

• Build, extend, maintain, and optimize our WordPress marketing website.
• Develop page types, taxonomy structures, menu systems, and other CMS features based on project requirements.
• Manage a junior WordPress developer.
• Configure goals, triggers, and tracking snippets in the VWO A/B testing tool.
• Convert designs into HTML, CSS, and JavaScript components.
• Ensure compliance with technical SEO best practices.
• Apply UI/UX standards to create a seamless user experience for high-traffic transactions.
• Participate in development, testing, implementation, and maintenance stages.
• Handle updates to CMS templates, create new custom templates, and perform WP maintenance.
• Manage the website back-end, including databases and integrations with platforms like Marketo and Salesforce.
• Collaborate with teams to resolve issues, prioritize needs, and implement solutions.
• Perform monthly security patches for WordPress, plugins, PHP, and CMS components.
• Set up vulnerability scans and act on any alerts.

Desired Traits:

• 10+ years of experience in front-end development, specifically using WordPress, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Node/NPM, Webpack, and Tailwind CSS.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and related formats (JSON, XML).
• Attention to detail, with the ability to meet deadlines and stay within budget.
• Experience designing, developing, testing, and optimizing responsive websites.
• Understanding of CSS changes and their impact on different platforms and browsers.
