About the Role
As an IT Administrator, you will play a key role in managing and maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure in collaboration with the Security and Engineering teams. Your primary focus will include asset and account management while supporting smooth daily operations and scaling IT systems as the company expands.
Key Responsibilities
- Asset Management:
- Oversee hardware (e.g., laptops, monitors, peripherals) and software (e.g., licenses, subscriptions) across the organization.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of IT equipment and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
- Coordinate hardware and software procurement, repairs, and returns with vendors.
- User and Identity Management:
- Manage user accounts, access permissions, and authentication protocols, including Infrastructure as a Service providers and tools like Google Workspace.
- Support new employees by provisioning hardware, software, and account access for smooth onboarding.
- Assist with password management, account recovery, and role-based access control.
- Security Support:
- Assist with implementing and maintaining endpoint protection, device encryption, and firewall configurations.
- Collaborate with Security and Engineering teams as needed.
- Engineering Support:
- Provide technical support for the Engineering team in setting up and troubleshooting development tools and environments.
- Help deploy updates to internal infrastructure and services, minimizing downtime and disruption.
- Day-to-Day IT Support:
- Serve as the primary contact for IT support, addressing software, hardware, network, and internal application issues.
- Proactively monitor system performance and resolve issues promptly.
- Documentation & Training:
- Create and maintain IT policies, procedures, and system documentation.
- Develop user guides and provide training on IT tools, systems, and security practices.
- Maintain internal knowledge resources, such as FAQs and IT wikis.
- Other Responsibilities:
- Continuously assess and optimize IT systems for improvements.
- Stay current with the latest IT tools, trends, and technologies.
- Contribute to IT projects, such as network upgrades, cloud migrations, and system implementations.
Requirements
- Experience:
- 2-4 years in IT support or administration, ideally in a startup or fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in asset management systems, account provisioning tools, and IT ticketing platforms.
- Familiarity with endpoint management tools (e.g., Jamf, Intune) and identity management solutions (e.g., Google Workspace, Okta).
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems, and troubleshooting hardware/software issues.
- Strong knowledge of security protocols, including VPNs, MFA, and endpoint/network protection.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) and development tools (e.g., Docker, Git).
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and customer service orientation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a dynamic environment.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
- Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with scripting or automation tools (e.g., BASH, Python, Ansible).
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITIL, or Security+ are a plus.
- Familiarity with DevOps or engineering environments is advantageous.
