Database Administration

Install, configure, and manage MS SQL Server and other database systems (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cosmos DB, NoSQL).

Azure Database Management

Administer and optimize Azure SQL databases, ensuring performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.

Monitoring & Performance

Monitor database health using tools such as ManageEngine Application Manager and Brent Ozar utilities; proactively identify and resolve performance issues.

Performance Optimization

Conduct query tuning, index management, and capacity planning for high-performance environments.

Backup & Recovery

Implement and manage robust backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes.

Security & Compliance

Enforce security best practices, access control, encryption, and compliance with organizational standards.

Automation & Maintenance

Automate maintenance and operational tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, or equivalent tools.

Architecture & Design

Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams on database design, partitioning, and scalability strategies.

Data Warehousing (Good to Have)

Exposure to EDW design, integration, or optimization will be beneficial but not mandatory.

Microsoft Fabric (Add-on)

Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric for unified data and analytics management will be an advantage.

Collaboration

Work closely with developers, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable and secure database operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 7–10 years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator.

• Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (installation, configuration, clustering, replication, Always On, and performance tuning).

• Proven experience with Azure and Azure SQL administration and optimization.

• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cosmos DB, flat-file, and NoSQL databases.

• Proficiency with ManageEngine Application Manager, Brent Ozar utilities, or similar monitoring tools.

• Experience with T-SQL and PowerShell scripting for automation and maintenance.

• Strong understanding of backup/recovery, HA/DR, and security best practices.

• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (or equivalent certification) – required.

• Excellent communication in English
