About the Role

We are developing a leading metrics-first finance and billing platform that enables B2B SaaS leaders to invoice their clients, present their Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) story, and track accounting revenue—all in one place, regardless of the complexity of their customer contracts.

The Role You'll Play on Our Team

  • You will serve as the initial point of contact for new customers after they join us, assisting them through complex, data-intensive implementations.
  • Your responsibilities include connecting customers to their source data, aiding them in cleaning and validating their data within our platform, and performing analyses that deliver maximum value.
  • Throughout each implementation, you'll ensure ARR metrics, invoices, and accounting revenue are accurate and complete by referencing clients' CRMs (e.g., Hubspot, Salesforce), general ledgers (e.g., Quickbooks, Xero), billing tools (e.g., Stripe, Maxio, Chargebee), and spreadsheets. To achieve this, we heavily utilize spreadsheets, external APIs, advanced SQL, and occasionally Python.
  • As the fifth member of the Data Solutions team, you'll help shape the role as we expand. You'll collaborate closely with the entire company, including our co-founders, who previously built and successfully exited a B2B SaaS company and are now on their second startup.
  • Being part of a young company with a lean team (only 14 people), you'll have significant influence in shaping and building all aspects of our organization. You'll have ample autonomy to define and refine best practices and processes to help both our customers and teammates excel.
  • In your role as a senior implementation manager, you'll not only work directly with the new clients you onboard but also support other team members as they encounter new challenges, sharing your experience and insights.

Our Way of Working

  • We are an asynchronous team.
    • We don't have scheduled internal meetings; most communication is accessible to everyone at any time through written documentation, company-wide Slack channels, and video recordings. If you're tired of unnecessary meetings, this is the place for you!
  • We operate with complete autonomy.
    • No one will dictate your tasks; everyone receives transparent context and details about company goals, and you will figure out how to contribute towards them with the rest of the team.
  • This is a remote position—work from anywhere you prefer.
    • Although we are fully remote and asynchronous internally, our clients are worldwide. You'll be taking live calls most days with customers in California, Australia, or the US East Coast, so significant overlap in working hours is essential. You can expect to work US-Pacific hours.
  • We are a team that enjoys working together.
    • We love playing board games (these we do synchronously!). Full-time team members meet multiple times a year for live off-site events around the world (expenses paid!).

Our Interview Process

Our interview process focuses on your intuition with analytics and your ability to communicate clearly (both in writing and via recorded video). Since we are a fully asynchronous company, we'll communicate in this interview process the same way.

The interview will assess your ability to understand, support, and engage with our fantastic customers.

  1. Spreadsheet Task: You'll start with a task similar to the data work you'll perform with our customers. This simulation allows you to ask clarification questions about the data.
  2. SQL Exercise: Next, you'll tackle a SQL exercise using PostgreSQL to demonstrate your database skills. We'll provide the data and details of the required output, and you'll craft the query to achieve it.
  3. Customer Communication: You'll showcase your communication skills by creating a piece of customer documentation crucial to the onboarding process and setting the stage for the customer's ongoing success. You'll then use this document to lead a live kick-off call with a new customer (we'll role-play as the customer for the interview).
  4. Meet the Co-founder: Finally, you'll have the opportunity to meet one of our co-founders. This isn't part of the evaluation—it's your chance to get to know us better and ask any remaining questions. We encourage you to inquire at any point! It's important to us that our company and working style are a good fit for you and that you have all the information you need to make the right decision.

Requirements

  • Our ideal candidate is passionate about data—analyzing it, discussing it, and advising our customers with it. You'll act as a key strategic advisor to our customers using that data!
    • We're looking for:
      • Mastery of SQL
      • Advanced spreadsheet skills
      • Experience with requesting and reading JSON data from APIs
      • A drive to achieve perfectly clean data
      • Familiarity with B2B SaaS business models
      • Ability to work US-Pacific hours
    • We also value (but don't require):
      • Proficiency in Python
      • Experience with general ledgers used in SaaS finance (e.g., Quickbooks, Xero, Netsuite)
      • Exposure to CRM tools (Hubspot and Salesforce)
  • You are kind, empathetic, and communicative. This applies both externally, as you'll closely collaborate with customers, and internally, as you'll support the broader team through written documents and recorded videos.
