As a Software Engineering Manager at Zuora, your main goal is to ensure your team remains productive and engaged.

WHAT YOU’LL ACHIEVE

• Lead by example in Infrastructure code quality, testing, and documentation.
• Continuously enhance the team's ability to set clear priorities, estimate efforts, and establish accurate expectations regarding delivery dates and quality objectives.
• Facilitate collaboration between team members and senior engineering leaders on the design and implementation of new architectural patterns.
• Identify improvements for the tools and processes the team uses to build, test, and deploy.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to contribute to product design as the team works to deliver product features.
• Work with our Documentation, Support, and Customer Success teams to provide assistance, fix customer-reported bugs, handle escalations, incidents, and on-call duties.
• Identify individual career goals and work closely with each team member to achieve them.
• Manage team dynamics and inspire collective morale.
• Foster a strong culture of customer empathy, encouraging the team to focus on solving customer problems first.
• Participate in the process of finding, screening, and interviewing engineering candidates, as well as hiring and retaining talent.

WHAT WE THINK YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

• Over 15 years of experience building software products, with at least 5 years focused on developing applications, tools, and CI/CD on cloud providers.
• More than 4 years managing teams of at least 10 engineers.
• Strong practical knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), GIT, Security, AWS concepts, Azure, and DevOps.
• Previous experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and cost management products is highly advantageous.
• Experience building and deploying software products for infrastructure, especially in multi-cloud or distributed web applications, is a significant plus.
• Ability to manage stakeholders by building trust.
• Experience in mentoring and coaching team members.
• Knowledge of Application Performance Monitoring (APM), monitoring, and logging on third-party applications is beneficial.
• Proven track record in owning, delivering, and onboarding infrastructure software products.
• Ability to manage speed, cost, and quality of deliverables.
• Excellent communication skills, innovative thinking, and a proactive attitude.
